SISTER SF Resident DJ Seraphim aka Sarah DeLush
Seraphim Delush, Sister San Francisco's spinstress has been pushing the
unique envelope of breakbeat sound for nearly 7 years, and is always
guarenteed to rock the dancefloor, playing only the best drum n bass,
electro, punk rock, breakbeat, ghettotech, and italo disco.
In 1999, Seraphim met Sister co-founder Siren while
working at
XLR8R Magazine. From there she helped with production work
at Nikit a/Spundaes' Bassment at Club 1015 Folsom in San Francisco, and
handled the bookings and promotion for the Bassment on Friday nights.
She worked hard to bring in top notch talent, while supporting the local
scene.
Seraphim joined forces with SISTER in March of 2000, bringing to the collective
her unmistakable talent and devotion to the San Francisco Bay Area music
scene. That year, she was nominated for the San Francisco Clubby's award
for best Jungle/Drum n Bass DJ, and played at local clubs such as
Phuturo, Eklektic, The Bassment at Nikita, on KUSF's Future Breaks FM,
Compression and many more. She was also seen and heard regularly at
Groovetech, before the SF studios were unfortunately shut down.
In 2001, Seraphim started a weekly D&B/breaks radio show
called
Sub Bass Sessions at Radio Haze St, having weekly guests play a variety
of new and unheard sounds. Also that year, Sister's D&B selecta
showcased her talent in Miami at the Winter Music Conference, in Las
Vegas, NV and Fresno, CA on the Vans Warped Tour and other cities such
as Seattle, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, to name a few.
In 2002 she started up a new weekly thursday nights at Club Sitio
called Incognita, and played
at Direct Drive in New York,
and Respect in
LA. Other weekly residency's include Bad Kitty,
KISS KISS, and Next Level. This year she's been featured in the Bay
Guardian During this last year she has expanded genres and started
playing and producing d&b, breaks, ghettotech and electro punk under the
moniker, Sarah Delush.
Seraphim has also has shared the stage with artists and
DJs Craze,
Storm, Dom & Roland, Fierce, Red One, Disco D, Reid Speed, Klute, Cause 4
Concern, Rap, Siren, Odi, Ray Keith, TeeBee and Universal Project, The
Paradise Boys, Richie Panic, Jeffrodisiac, Gold Chains, the Lovemakers,
Kid 606, as well as many other talented artists. Mixes include :
Seraphim (self titled, tape),
Secular (CD), Angels Affliction (CD), Redline (CD), and Electro Peep
Show Volume 1.
Electro Peep Show Vol. 2 is scheduled to be released in the fall of 2005.
